Day 1Delhi arrival
The tour begins with your arrival on the Delhi International Airport where in you will be met by Vacations & Journeys representative who will accompany you to the hotel to check in and unwind. If you have time in the evening you may go for shopping and visit some famous hangout places in Delhi at night.
Day 2Delhi sightseeing
Wake up refreshed, to satisfy the wanderlust in you, you will today have a full day sightseeing tour of the capital. In the morning you will be taken to the Red Fort, the fort built with red sandstone was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the year 1968. The fort was the residence of the royal Mughal family and lineage for more than 2000 years and is now a house to various museums which have several artifacts on display. Then visit the Jama Masjid and then the Humayun’s Tomb built with red sandstone and marble engraved, it somewhat resembles to Taj Mahal of Agra in terms of its architecture.
The other places you will visit are the Raj Ghat, India Gate with drive past Secretariat and the President’s House. In the evening you can enjoy the light and sound show at the Red Fort or you may chose to shop and taste mouth watering Indian delicacies from the restaurants in Delhi. At night stay at the hotel and have a good night’s sleep.
Day 3Travel from Delhi to Agra (231 kms)
Today you will leave for Agra from Delhi. On reaching, check into the hotel and have refreshments. Then proceed to watch the World Heritage Site of Agra Fort. In the fort complex you will see various impeccable building of the Mughal era. The Jehangir Mahal, Zenana Mina Bazar, Akbar Mahal, Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khas, Khas Mahal Aaramgah, the Anguri Bagh are name of a few. The Agra Fort visit will be followed by visit to the most wonderful monument ever, the Taj Mahal of Agra. It looks incredible on any time of the day, but is specially visited during the sunset and sunrise, as it looks even more incredible when it reflects the sunrays and looks like it is changing colors. Your overnight stay will be in the hotel in Agra.
Day 4Travel from Agra to Jaipur (228 kms)
The day begins with breakfast followed by journey towards Jaipur. On your way at the Jaipur Agra Highway you will visit the abandoned ‘Ghost town’ Fatehpur Sikri. The monuments of the city are enlisted in the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site list. Do not forget to watch the grand Buland Darwaza, a grand entrance of the fort; it was built during the countable years of the reign of Emperor Akbar here. After sightseeing Fatehpur Sikri, continue the journey towards Jaipur.
Day 5Jaipur sightseeing
Start an early day in Jaipur and first go for the visit to the Amber Fort. The view of magnificent Amber Fort from the periphery of the city shows how giant and grand this fort is. The Amber Fort has brilliantly built entrance gates like Suraj Pol, Ganesh Pol and Chand Pol. From the unparallel designs on the entrances to the water cooled palaces like Sukh Niwas, the Amber Fort has a lot to show you. You will have a drive past Hawa Mahal to reach the Jantar Mantar, the observatory from which you will head to the City Palace if there is enough time left to explore it. The other places which you can visit in Jaipur are the Birla Temple, Albert Hall Museum, etc.
Day 6Travel from Jaipur to Delhi (268 kms)
On the sixth day of the Golden Triangle with Golden Temple Amritsar Tour with us, you will be transferred to Delhi so that you can rest and reach the next destination Amritsar. In Delhi you can enjoy an unguided tour and explore the places of your interest in the city.
Day 7Travel from Delhi to Amritsar (448 kms)
So today you will be have a smooth journey to Amritsar. Situated in the Punjab state, this city is famous for the Golden Temple, the Jalianwala Bagh and Wagha Border. In the evening you will be taken to watch the beating retreat at the Wagha Border in Amritsar. It is the only open border between the neighboring country Pakistan and India. The retreat is a very impressive activity performed by the Indian and Pakistani Soldiers at this International Border. At night you will be transferred to the hotel for relaxing and refreshing yourself.
Day 8Golden Temple Visit in Amritsar
The day will be filled with peace and spirituality in your mind. In the morning have breakfast and get ready for the visit to the Golden Temple, originally named as the Harmandir Sahib. Its construction was planned and commenced by the fifth Sikh Guru Arjan Singh, who installed the ‘Adi Granth’ in the Gurudwara in the middle of the water tank called Sarovar. This is a Sikh religion pilgrim site and also houses the Akal Takht in the complex. The Golden temple has been coated with golden color and it look like it is totally made of gold when light falls on it. The next place you will visit is the Jalianwala Bagh which is related to a sad historical event in the history of India. At night shop and taste the delicious cuisines of Punjab in Amritsar. Retire and relax during the night.
You will be transferred to the New Delhi International Airport today from where you can board the flight back to your home, ending the Golden Triangle with Golden Temple Amritsar Tour.
