Day 1 Delhi arrival
Your arrival will be on Delhi Airport on the first day wherein you will check in the pre booked hotel. Afterwards you are free to spend your time relaxing and enjoying your stay. At night you can explore the nightlife of Delhi.
Day 2 Delhi sightseeing
Begin the day with a tempting breakfast and then get ready to explore this amazing city. First you will visit the World Heritage Sites of Qutub Minar and then the Humayun’s Tomb. Then you will visit the Raj Ghat, the resting place of Mahatma Gandhi followed by the drive past the President’s House, Parliament House and the India Gate.
Note: There are many other attractions to visit in Delhi that you may choose according to your interest.
Day 3 Travel from Delhi to Agra (231 kms)
Have breakfast, spend time in leisure activities in the luxury hotel and then pack your bags for travelling to Agra. Agra is situated in the North-Western Uttar Pradesh and is an important city for tourism in India. At Agra you will make a visit to the following places- the Agra Fort, Itmad-ud-Daulah and the archaic beauty Taj Mahal. The sight of Taj Mahal will make this tour even more happening. Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan this is the Tomb he had built for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal after whom it has been named. People visit this marvel during the sunrise and sunset especially to watch it in different hues of colors. Night stay will be in the hotel in Agra.
Day 4 Travel from Agra to Gwalior (120 kms)
On this day you will start an early day and travel to Gwalior, once ruled by the Scindhias, it is an old city which has preserved its history in an impressive manner. At Gwalior you will see the magnificent hill fort of Gwalior which is a thousand years old monument, the Gwalior Fort, then the Birla Sun Temple and the Jai Vilas Palace Museum to watch the beautiful and royal artifacts in a grand palace. Spend the night in the luxurious hotel in Gwalior.
Day 5 Travel from Gwalior to Jhansi to Khajuraho (103 kms- 175 kms)
Have breakfast and move ahead with the day. Travel from Gwalior to the historic city of Jhansi, the land of the brave queen of Jhansi, Rani Laxmibai. A visit at the Jhansi Fort and the Rani Mahal is included in the itinerary. After the visit continue the journey to reach the World Heritage Site Khajuraho. Reach the pre booked hotel first and complete the check in formalities. Make yourself comfortable and relax in the luxurious hotel. Enjoy the rejuvenating spa in the hotel and have a good night’s sleep.
Day 6 Khajuraho sightseeing
Khajuraho is known for the unusual decorations and carving on the temples of the Khajuraho Temple Complex. After breakfast you will explore the Temples of Khajuraho. Visit the eccentric Indian Hindu temples that do not portray the idols of Gods, instead they showcase the carvings of intimate structures of males and females of the temple walls and pillars. The most fascinating temples in the complex with unusual sculpts are Kandariya Mahadev Temple, Duladeo Temple, Lakshman Temple, Vamana Temple, Chaturbhuj Temple and the Devi Jagadambi Temple.
Day 7 Travel from Khajuraho to Orchha (175 kms)
In the morning have breakfast and travel to Orchha, situated in the Bundelakhand region of Central India it was ruled by King Rudra Pratap Singh. Orchha has a magnificent Orchha Fort Complex built atop a hill housing various amazing monuments such as the Jahangir Mahal, The Raja Mahal, Sheesh Mahal and various gardens in the complex. After visiting the fort, visit the beautiful Raja Ram Temple in Orchha. At night relax and enjoy a delicious dinner in the luxurious hotel.
Day 8 Travel from Orchha to Jhansi to Bhopal (18 kms- 355 kms)
Today you will be going to Bhopal which is the next destination in the Heart of India Luxury Tour. On reaching Bhopal check into the hotel with help of Vacations & Journeys representative and spend the rest of the time in relaxing and energizing yourself.
Day 9 Travel from Bhopal to Sanchi to Bhopal (42 kms- 42 kms)
Beginning an early day you will get up and travel to Sanchi, which is situated at a distance of 42 kms from the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal. At Sanchi you will see the famous Sanchi Stupa which is also enlisted in the list of World Heritage Site of UNESCO. The construction of Stupa at Sanchi was done by Emperor Asoka; the Stupa is a brilliant example of Buddhist architecture having portrayal of the incidents from Lord Buddha’s life. After visiting this historical site, return back to Bhopal and visit the famous art gallery, Bharat Bhavan. If the time allows you may visit the Lower Lake View and Birla Mandir in Bhopal. Relax and have a good night’s sleep at night.
Day 10 Travel from Bhopal to Ujjain to Indore (191 kms- 55 kms)
Have breakfast early in the morning and travel to Ujjain. Ujjain is a famous pilgrimage site in India for the Hindus where they take a holy dip in the River Shipra and visit the famous Kumbh Fair held once in every 12 years. At Ujjain you will visit the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirling of Lord Shiva; it is visited by millions of devotees round the year. Then visit the Kaliadeh Palace in Ujjain situated by the River Shipra. The palace was built by the Mandu Sultans but was demolished and later restored by Maharaja Madhav Rao Scindia. Then you will leave Ujjain for Indore, the next destination. Your night stay will be in Indore.
Day 11 Indore sightseeing
Indore was the capital of the Holkar dynasty of India. Indore is the business capital of Madhya Pradesh. In Indore have a delicious breakfast in the morning and visit the mesmerzing 20th century Kanch Mandir (Glass Temple) built by Sir Hukumchand Seth. Then visit the Lal Bagh Palace, the grand palace was built by Maharaja Shivaji Rao Holkar. Other Places to visit in Indore are Rajwada and the Mahatma Gandhi Hall. Relish a luxurious stay in Indore.
Day 12 Travel from Indore to Omkareshwar to Maheshwar (80 kms- 66 kms)
Enjoy a tempting breakfast in the morning and travel to Omkareshwar. Omkareshwar is actually a Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is situated at a distance of 80 kms from Indore on a natural island named Mandhata on the River Narmada. It is visited for the majestic temple of Lord Shiva with finesse sculptures on the walls, pillars and sanctum. Then leave for Maheshwar and check in to the Luxurious Ahilya Fort Hotel in Maheshwar. Have an appetizing dinner and unlax yourself in the appeasing pools and appealing views.
Day 13 Travel from Maheshwar to Mandu to Maheshwar (42 kms- 42 kms)
Today you will have a day with a combination of some spirituality with royalty. Begin the day with a visit to the famous Kaleshwar Temple then head to Mandu. Mandu is known for the famous Mandu Fort whose construction dates back to the 14th century. The fort has various attractions like the Jahaz Mahal, Rani Roopmati’s Pavilion, Hindola Palace, Jama Mosque, Jain Temples and the first marble structure built in India, the Tomb of the ruler Hoshang Shah. Then after the sightseeing of the Mandu Fort head back to Maheshwar to unwind and relax during the night.
Day 14 Travel from Maheshwar to Indore to Mumbai (95 kms- 595 kms)
Today you will travel from Maheshwar to Indore. Filled with the sights of sprawling green farms and small villages you will reach Indore from where you will board a flight to Mumbai, the economic capital of India. On reaching Mumbai you will check in to the pre booked luxurious hotel and have some rest. At night, if you are feeling energetic, you can explore the city of Mumbai. Visit the star rated restaurants and taste some divine dishes, have a drive past the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus locally famous as CST, it is a World Heritage Site, visit the Leopold Café and meet new people from all around the world or make a visit to the AER in Worli. You can spend the time as you like to explore.
Day 15 Departure
Spend the morning in relaxing activities and then you will be transferred at the Mumbai International Airport to board your flight home on the scheduled time. The day marks the end of the Heart of India Luxury Tour and we hope that India also did make a place in your heart.
