Day 1 Mumbai arrival
The Jewels of India Tour will begin with your arrival on Mumbai Airport. After a warm welcome by the Vacations & Journeys representative you will be taken to the Luxury Hotel in Mumbai. Check in to the hotel and then spend some time in relaxing after the journey. If you are interested in exploring Mumbai you can enjoy an unguided tour in the city and give treat to your taste buds by trying delicious cuisines in the exotic but fun restaurants of the city.
Day 2 Mumbai sightseeing
Wake up in the morning and get ready to traverse this lively city. In the morning you will visit the most beautiful harbor of the country, the Apollo harbor at which you will see the Gateway of India which was built to celebrate the visit of Prince of Whales in India. Then from there you will go for a visit to the Elephanta Caves i.e. 11 kms in the sea to watch the centuries old stone carved and rock cut sculptures of Gods. The other places where you will visit in Mumbai are Victoria Terminus, Prince of Whales Museum and the Marine Drive or the Queen’s Necklace. After the sightseeing in Mumbai, enjoy a relaxing massage and spa in the luxurious hotel you are staying in.
Day 3 Travel from Mumbai to Udaipur (760 kms)
Today you will board the flight to Udaipur. Check in at the magnificent and luxurious hotel in the royal city of Udaipur. Enjoy a relaxing spa and rejuvenate. Visit the City Palace in Udaipur to know more about the royal lineage of Udaipur. In the evening you will visit the Lake Pichhola and have exotic view of the City Palace. Enjoy a royal dinner in the hotel and retire for the night.
Day 4 Travel from Udaipur for Ranakpur sightseeing to Udaipur (94 kms)
Have breakfast in the morning and then you will drive to Ranakpur situated near Udaipur to visit the wondrous Chaturmukha Temple. The temple is known for the beautiful Jain architectural style and the unique feature of the temple is the pillars over which the main hall is standing. There are more than a thousand pillars which support the hall and each one has been decorated differently. Return back to the hotel in Udaipur and ease back.
Day 5 Travel from Udaipur to Jaipur (412 kms)
Start the day afresh in Udaipur, have a tasty breakfast and then start off towards Jaipur. The Pink city is the capital of Rajasthan and is another Jewel in the Crown of Rajasthan. Jaipur has a number of well preserved monuments which are centuries old. Jaipur is very well developing and expanding as a metropolitan city of India and has a number of corporate, malls, colleges and institutes. You will have a stay at one of the best heritage hotels in Jaipur.
Day 6 Jaipur sightseeing
Begin the day with an energizing breakfast and visit one of the most popular forts of India, the Amer Fort or the Amber Fort situated at a distance of 11 kms from the city. Amer Fort Complex is situated on a hill top; you will reach on an elephant ride to the main entrance of the fort. The Fort is centuries old and the beautiful complex gives the insight of how the life of the royal household was during the prime times of the fort. It has beautiful gardens, entrances, palaces, temples and has age old architecturally designed natural air cooled palaces and pavilions. Then you will visit the observatory Jantar Mantar and the City Palace of Jaipur for some more insights to the royalty of the city. In the evening, visit the amazing Indo-saracenic design Albert Hall Museum and view the galleries and collections of some of the most beautiful paintings, carpets, etc.
Day 7 Travel from Jaipur to Ranthambore (180 kms)
For some exclusive wildlife adventure you will be taken to Ranthambore on the seventh day of the Jewels of India Tour. You will have a Jungle Safari in Ranthambore National Park. The park serves as the home to various species of mammals, reptiles, birds and plants. The mightiest of them all, the Indian Tigers are also a part of this national park. Ranthambore is also a Tiger Reserve and a growing population of tigers is a residence of this jungle. There are beautiful lakes inside the Jungle which can be seen during the safari. Enjoy watching a number of animals living in their natural habitat. Night stay will be in a luxury resort in Sawai Madhopur that is just a few kilometers from Ranthambore.
Day 8 Travel from Ranthambore (Sawai Madhopur) to Bharatpur (239 kms)
In the morning enjoy the morning Jungle Safari in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve and then return back to the resort and have breakfast. After spending some time in laze and having lunch you will move towards Bharatpur. On reaching Bharatpur check in and spend the rest of the time as per your convenience. Have a tasty dinner and comfortable stay at night.
Day 9 Bharatpur (Keoladevi National Park) sightseeing
Wake up in the morning and have a light breakfast. Then you will be transferred to the Keoladevi National Park. Enjoy the Jungle Safari at Keoladevi National Park in Bharatpur. Earlier it was known with the name of Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, it is a home to more than 200 species of local and migratory birds that are seen here but the government later declared it as a national park due to the presence of various species of other land animals including mammals and reptiles. Eat your dinner and ease off at night in the resort.
Day 10 Travel from Bharatpur to Fatehpur Sikri to Agra (25 kms and 37 kms)
On this day you will start the exploration of two more destinations in the Jewels of India Tour. You will today leave for Fatehpur Sikri from Bharatpur. Having a stop at Fatehpur Sikri you will visit the city which was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar on the advice of Sufi Saint Salim Chishti. Although, the Mughals abandoned the city in just a few years due to water scarcity, they left their mark on the city in the form of various archaic monuments built in Mughal architecture which are included in the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site list. You will see the Victory Gate commonly called as the Buland Darwaza, Mariyam-uz-zamani’s (Jodhabai) Palace, the Hall of Commons and Hall of VIPs in the Fatehpur Sikri Fort and Salim Chishti Tomb. Continue the drive to reach Agra.
Day 11 Agra sightseeing
Agra is one of the most sought after place by the tourists in India. It is famous for the world known Taj Mahal. Begin the day with a tempting breakfast enjoying Mughal cuisines, the specialty of Agra and then a visit to the Red Fort of Agra. Built with Red Sandstone this Fort has seen much better times. Its construction was commenced by Mughal Emperor Akbar and it is a fine example of pure Mughal architecture. Then you will have a visit to the structure which is said to have inspired the construction of the Taj Mahal i.e. the Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb. The beautiful white marble structure is the resting place of one of the most powerful personalities of the Mughal court Mirza Ghiyas Beg. In the evening you will visit the Taj Mahal and witness its beauty from the Mehtab Bagh built opposite the Taj Mahal. The beautiful garden has a number of fountains and this garden along with the Taj Mahal makes the premises look heavenly. Dinner and stay in the luxury hotel at night.
Day 12 Departure
Make the last day of your tour even more memorable by visiting the Taj Mahal during the dawn. It looks astonishing in the light of the rising sun. Return back and have breakfast and then with the enticing memories of the Jewels of India, you will be transferred to Delhi for boarding your flight to home marking the end of the tour.
