Day 1 Delhi Arrival

Your arrival in the beginning of the tour will be on the Delhi International Airport. On reaching receive a warm welcome from the Vacations & Journeys representative who will also transfer you to the decided hotel.  You are free to spend the rest of the day either relaxing or exploring the vivacious nightlife of Delhi.

Day 2 Delhi sightseeing

Start the day after a delicious breakfast and proceed for exploring the tourist places in Delhi. First, the places that you will be exploring are the World Heritage Sites of Delhi the Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb and the Qutub Minar. Then you will visit the Akshardham Temple followed by visit to the Hauz Khas Village. In Hauz Khas you can explore the old village of Hauz Khas and taste some of the most unique and delicious cuisines from your preferred restaurant from among number of restaurants there. Spend the night in the hotel relaxing and sleeping.

Day 3 Travel from Delhi to Kurukshetra (167 kms)

After you have seen Delhi you will be transferred to Kurukshetra today. In Kurukshetra visit attractions including the Brahma Sarovar; it is a big water tank which holds significance in the Hindu mythological stories. It is believed that the Hindu God Brahma created the World from the water of this Sarovar. There is also a bronze chariot in between the Brahma Sarovar illustrating the scene in which Lord Krishna is giving the lesson of Bhagwat Geeta to Arjun. Kurukshetra is the place where the War of Mahabharata took place. Visit Jyotisar which is the exact spot where the Geeta was delivered to Arjun. The other attractions in Kurukshetra are, one of the 52 Shaktipeeths, the Bhadrakali Temple, the Ban Ganga and the Kurukshetra Panorama and Science Centre to know more about this spectacular city.

Day 4 Travel from Kurukshetra to Chandigarh (91 kms)

On the fifth day to the North India Tour with Amritsar you will today head to Chandigarh, one of the most clean and well maintained cities of India, it is the capital of two states Haryana as well as Punjab. In Chandigarh the spot which you will visit first is the Rock Garden. The garden is a popular tourist place in Chandigarh known for the rock cut sculpted statues, waterfalls and the beautifully designed botanical gardens. Sukhna Lake is another attraction of Chandigarh to take a look at. Surrounded by elegant gardens, it offers you boating facilities in the alluring waters which is also a habitat to various species of birds. In the evening explore the exciting nightlife of Chandigarh in sector 17 famous for shopping and some of the best eateries in the city.

Day 5 Travel from Chandigarh to Amritsar (233 kms)

From the capital city of Punjab, you will travel to Amritsar in Punjab; the city is famous for the Harmandir Sahib, popularly known as the ‘Golden Temple’. On reaching Amritsar you will refresh in the hotel and then will proceed for the visit to Jalianwala Bagh. The Bagh (park) has a sad story associated with its past and people often come to visit the Jalianwala Bagh and watch the bruises of the massacre that had happened here killing thousands of innocent lives. In the evening you will visit the Wagha Border in Amritsar and witness the impeccable beating retreat ceremony here. It is going to be a unique experience for you witnessing the stiff march of the Indian and Pakistani soldiers. Then you will make a visit to the Golden Temple. On the very first sight of this place you will understand why it is called the Golden Temple. After the remarkable Golden Temple visit, return and relax in the hotel.

Day 6 Travel from Amritsar to Dharamshala (208 kms)

This morning proceed to Dharamshala, the captivating city situated in the state Himachal Pradesh in India. Surrounded by the thick forests of Cedar trees this city is home to Dalai Lama. It has Tibetan influence on its culture and also has the Namgyal monastery. On reaching Dharamshala you will visit the most attractive place here, the Kangra Valley, the valley gives picturesque sights of the Himalayas. The greenery of this valley will capture your heart and you will feel like staying here forever. On the way to the nearby tourist town of McLeod Ganj is the beautiful Neo-Gothic style built Saint John in the Wilderness situated in the forest of Deodar Trees. The other attractions here are, the Bhagsunath Falls and Temple and Dal Lake. Relax and retire for the night in the hotel in Dharamshala.

Day 7 Travel from Dharamshala to Manali (239 kms)

Situated by the Baes River is the intimidating hill station of Manali. The hill station Manali is visited by millions of tourists throughout the year. The weather remains cool to mild and people specially visit Manali to get relief from the typical heat of the summers in India. Here you will be exploring and diving into the amazing world of Ice-sports and adventure sports.

Day 8 Travel from Manali to Shimla (250 kms)

After a ride from Manali you will reach Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla is also a hill station that witnesses a high footfall of tourists throughout the year. In Shimla you will be having the privilege of visiting the divine Summer Hill, one of the most captivating sights in Shimla. Visit the Christ Church, Jakhoo Temple and the Mall Road in the evening to see and shop for some beautifully made hand crafted items which you will hardly find anywhere else. Have a peaceful night in the hotel in Shimla.

Day 9 Travel from Shimla to Rishikesh (271 kms)

Get up and get ready for proceeding to another alluring hill station, Rishikesh which is situated in Uttarakhand state of India; one of the green and picturesque states in India. Rishikesh is also a famous pilgrimage site for the Hindus and they visit in large numbers to get holy sight of their deity Gods. Walk the Laxman Jhula and watch the Ram Jhula. Triveni Ghat is a popular attraction where the Holy River Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati unite. Rishikesh is well known for adventure sports, you name it and they have it. Different kinds of adventure sport activities can be experienced here from paragliding, river rafting, cliff jumping, kayaking and rappelling to Bungee jumping, flying fox and much more.

Day 10 Rishikesh Sightseeing and amazement

You have an amazing day ahead. Visit the holy Neelkanth Temple and then proceed for adventure activity of your choice. Go trekking and have amazing views of the peaks of Himalayas and cliffs in Rishikesh. After the engaging day in Rishikesh you may choose to stay in the camps on the banks of River Ganga or can stay in a hotel at night.

Day 11 Travel from Rishikesh to Haridwar (23 kms)

After having breakfast, proceed to Haridwar. Situated shortly after Rishikesh, reach Haridwar to visit the eight-storey built unique Bharat Mata Temple, the Mansa Devi Temple and the Chandi Devi Temple. In the evening you will witness the magnificent Ganga Aarti at the Har ki Paudi and get mesmerized by the tranquil view of the bank of River Ganga enlightened with innumerable floating lamps.

Day 12 Travel from Haridwar to Agra (392 kms)

Early morning proceed from Haridwar to the city of Taj, Agra. Reach the hotel and refresh yourself. In the evening you will visit the amazing Taj Mahal in the light of the setting sun. Visit this wondrous monument and see the spectacular beauty. Made from white marble with verses of Quran inscribed on its walls and gates, the beauty of this tomb is unparallel. Take a walk in the local markets and shop some souvenirs for your loved ones and return to the hotel.

Day 13 Travel from Agra to Fatehpur Sikri to Jaipur (37 kms and 205 kms)

Sightseeing the Taj Mahal early in the morning is a must if you are present in Agra. The timeless beauty looks even more appealing during the dawn. You can take photographs of the Taj and return to the hotel for a delicious breakfast and get ready for travelling to the next spot in the tour that is Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan state of North India.  Heading to Jaipur you will visit the city of Fatehpur Sikri shortly after Agra. The city was abandoned by the Mughal centuries ago when they fell short of water and resources. The city is now a World Heritage Site enlisted by the UNESCO. The famous attraction here is Fatehpur Sikri Fort Complex which includes monuments of historical importance which are the Buland Darwaza (Victory Arch), Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khas, Tomb of Salim Chishti, Birbal’s Palace, etc. The city gives more insights about the blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture. On reaching Jaipur, check in the hotel and spend the night relaxing and energizing your body.

Day 14 Jaipur sightseeing

You will be having an amazing day in the Pink City. The city is called so because it still follows the tradition of painting the building pink in honor of the order of its former King and founder Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Since then most of the avenues are always painted in pink including the buildings of strategic importance. In Jaipur you will see the Amber Fort, City Palace and Hawa Mahal; amazed by their grandeur you will proceed to visit the Birla Temple and the Albert Hall Museum in the evening. You also have the option of enjoying a special night at Choki Dhani, enjoying a relishing the cuisines and culture of Rajasthan.

Day 15 Departure

Today you will be transferred to Delhi International Airport to board your flight back to home. With your arrival at the Delhi Airport the North India Tour with Amritsar will come to an end with us.
