You will be picked up from the discussed location in the morning by the Vacations & Journeys staff in the car of your choice, and then you will be taken to visit in the Red Fort.
Red Fort- The use of red sandstones in its construction has given this fort its red color. The Red Fort was constructed by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648. It houses a number of museums and beautiful gardens inside the premises. The fort served as the main political centre during the Mughal rule in India.
Then you will be taken to the Jama Masjid.
Jama Masjid- It is one of the largest mosques present in India. Built with red sandstone and white marble, this mosque is a World Heritage Site. It can accommodate a crowd of 25000 people in its courtyard.
After visiting the mosque, the next place you will cover is the Raj Ghat.
Raj Ghat- The resting place of the father of the nation, the Raj Ghat is actually the place where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated a day after his assassination. Situated by the banks of Yamuna River, you will feel very calm in the surroundings of this place.
You can have lunch at the place of your choice after visiting Raj Ghat. Then you will have a drive past the President’s House and the Parliament House leading to the India Gate.
India Gate- The India Gate is actually a huge arch gate that is a war memorial erected in memory of the 82,000 India Soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the First World War. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens who was a famous architect of that time. The India Gate stands on one axis of the Rajpath (translated as the Kings way), a prominent road in Delhi.
The next spot you will have a visit is the Humayun’s Tomb.
Humayun’s Tomb- The tomb has been enlisted in the UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. Surrounded by lush green gardens, this mausoleum of the Mughal Emperor Humayun was constructed by his widow Hamida Banu Begam after fourteen years of his death. The beautiful red sandstone monument resembles a luxurious palace more than a mausoleum and is worth watching.
The next spots you will be covering are two beautiful temples known for their astonishing architecture.
Akshardham Temple- Translated as ‘abode of god’, the Akshardham Temple is one of the most beautiful temples in India. Made with finely hand carved stones, the temple also holds the Guinness World Record of being the largest comprehensive Hindu Temple. The beauty of this temple is unparallel.
Lotus Temple- It is actually a Baha’i place of worship. Open to people of all descents of the world, the Lotus Temple has been named on the shape it has been made. The temple looks like blossoming lotus petal which looks even more beautiful when the outside of the temple is lit with colorful lights at night.
