In the beginning of the Jaipur Agra Tour you will be first picked up by a representative from Vacations & Journeys who is accompanied by a driver from the place of your choice in Jaipur and then transferred to Agra. The distance between Jaipur and Agra is 240 kilometers and to cover it in the morning itself your tour will begin early in the morning.
On reaching Agra you will have some refreshment and the sightseeing of Agra will commence. The first place you will visit is the Agra Fort.
Agra Fort: Also known as the Red Fort of Agra. The fort was earlier known as ‘Badalgarh’ and was a brick fort but during the Mughal rule, Emperor Akbar decided to make Agra as his capital keeping in mind the central location of the city. He ordered the fort to be rebuilt and the fort was rebuilt by red sandstone by 4000 workers working daily till eight years to complete this fort. Later Shah Jahan, the Emperor and grandson of Akbar made additions to the fort by adding buildings in his preferred style of using white marble. As a result this World Heritage Site has a huge complex with many impeccable buildings inside for the visitors to watch. The main attractions in the Agra Fort are Shah Jahani Mahal, Musamman Burj, Raja Ratan Mandir, Zenana Mina Bazar, Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khas, Moti Masjid, Nagina Masjid, Ghaznin Gate, Khas Mahal and many more.
Then you will see the Jama Mosque.
Jama Mosque: Built by Shah Jahan, in the red sandstone Jama Masjid or the Jami Masjid is situated in front of the Agra Fort and is one of the largest mosques in India.
After a brief visit in the Jama Mosque you will be taken to visit the Itmad-ud-Daulah.
Itmad-ud-Daulah: The structure is a mausoleum of a powerful personality of the Mughal court named Mirza Ghiyas Beg who was the father of Nur Jahan and grandfather of Mumtaz Mahal. The term Itmad-ud-Daulah is a designation meaning ‘pillar of the state’ which was given to the father of Mughal Emperor Jahangir’s wife Nur Jahan. The construction of this tomb was commissioned by Nur Jahan and this beautiful monument is built with white marble and has inlay works with precious stones and gems inspiring the construction of the Taj Mahal.
After visiting the ‘baby Taj’ you will visit the Ram Bagh Gardens.
Ram Bagh: The beautiful Ram Bagh was also built during the Mughal rule; Babur was the Mughal Emperor who ordered to build this beautiful garden with several canals and waterways to let water flow. Babur was initially buried here but later shifted to Kabul. The Ram Bagh Garden also has a basement called ‘Tah khana’ which was used during the hot summers for guests to stay inside. It is a Persian style garden and also known with the name of ‘Aaram Bagh’.
There after you will have your most awaited moment of the day, the visit to the Taj Mahal.
Taj Mahal: Not something unheard by the travelers of the World, this white marble monument is one of the most magnificent creativity of Men. The Taj Mahal was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a mausoleum to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal after whom it was named. Taj Mahal is a beautifully built structure that has a huge domed structure in the middle and four minarets on both sides’ two in front and two at the back. It is said that it has inlay works with precious stones like turquoise, agate, emerald, etc. It has verses of Quran inscribed on the entrance arch.
After you have seen the Taj Mahal in the end of the Tour Vacations & Journeys will transfer you to the place of your choice in the chosen Rental Car or Coach Service by you.
