Day 1 Trivandrum arrival

On arrival at Trivandrum Airport, a Vacations & Journeys representative will greet you and bring you to the pre booked hotel for check in. Rest of the day is free for relaxing and taking off your tiredness from the journey.

Day 2 Trivandrum sightseeing

The sightseeing of the capital city of Kerala marks the beginning of the Kerala South to North Tour. In the morning visit the Napier Museum and watch the amazing collection of bronze, copper and other artifacts from Kerala. Then have a visit to the Trivandrum Zoo and aquarium situated near the Napier Museum. Have a visit to the Shri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, one of the most famous temples of India where mind boggling amount of treasure was found in the giant chests. In the evening visit the famous tourist beach of Kovalam. Take a walk by the clear waters and long coastline of the beach, and afterwards enjoy the local snacks from the multiple eateries situated near the beach. At night, return to the hotel for a good night’s sleep.

Day 3 Travel from Trivandrum to Kollam (64 kms)

After a delicious breakfast, move to the next destination Kollam also called Quilon. Kollam is the ‘Cashew Capital of the World’; it has one of the oldest seaports of Kerala situated on the Ashtamudi Lake. In Kollam you will see the Thevally Palace which was once the residence of the Travancore kings, then visit the British Residency which was built by the British and is known for its incredible architecture. In the evening you may either visit the 144 feet high Tangasseri Light House which was built in 1902 or may relax at the Thirumullavaram Beach which is an idyllic beach and totally safe for swimming.

Day 4 Travel from Kollam to Alleppey (87 kms)

Today after relishing a delicious breakfast you will travel to Alleppey which is now known as Alappuzha. Enjoy sailing in the heart stirring waters of the Chambakulum area in Alappuzha and moor in the Vembanad Lake overnight. You will be accompanied by a chef in the Houseboat who will cook delicacies for you, which can be enjoyed in the Houseboat itself.

Day 5 Travel from Alleppey to Cochin (53 kms)

On this day you will wind up your luggage from Alleppey and travel to Cochin. The fast developed city of Cochin or Kochi is home to the some of the amazing infrastructural building and amazements in Kerala. There are several renowned educational institutes and some of the best Ayurveda centers. Cochin also has Portuguese influence on its culture and houses several buildings which were built by the Portuguese. Night stay is scheduled in the hotel in Cochin.

Day 6 Cochin sightseeing

Enjoy a delicious breakfast in the hotel and begin the exploration of Cochin. You will visit the Mattancherry Palace built by the Portuguese in 1557. It looks extremely adorable in the evenings when lit by golden lights; the palace has several murals and Indian paintings of Gods and Kings of Kochi. Next is the Jewish Synagogue where you will pay a visit.  The Synagogue is built adjacent to the Mattancherry Palace in the area which was earlier called the ‘Jew Town’. You may also visit the Kochi Fort to see the St. Francis church which is dedicated to Santo Antonio. In the evening you will be taken to watch the famous Chinese Fishing Nets which are placed at the mouth of the entrance of the rivers to catch fishes. These nets are very helpful to the fishermen as they help catching many fishes at once and the picturesque view attracts a large number of tourists especially the Photography lovers.

Day 7 Travel from Cochin to Cheruthuruthi (113 kms)

The day is scheduled for travelling from Cochin to Cheruthuruthi, a small town in the Thrissur district of Kerala. Cheruthuruthi is also known as Vallathol Nagar, situated by the banks of river Nila, this town is known for the Ayurveda centric tourism. There are many resorts here that also provide with Ayurvedic treatments, massage and spas. Here you can also visit the Kalamandalam, it is the academy for the ancient arts of Kerala including dances like Kathakali, Mohiniattam and martial art form of Kerala called as Kalari Payattu. Relax and rejuvenate yourself with a relaxing Ayurveda treatment in Cheruthuruthi.

Day 8 Travel from Cheruthuruthi to Wayanad (162 kms)

You will leave for the next destination of the Kerala South to North Tour that is Wayanad. Another gift of the God’s Own Country, Wayanad has a number of natural places for sightseeing. The Brahmagiri Hills are situated in the North Wayanad; the largest peak of Wayanad with a heart shaped lake is a bonus for the trek lovers. Overnight resorting is scheduled in Wayanad.

Day 9 Wayanad sightseeing

You will have to leave the bed early to explore this beautiful city. In the morning visit the Muthunga Wildlife Sanctuary to spot some amazing animals like Elephants, deer, sloth bears, macaques and over 250 varieties of birds in the sanctuary. Then you may choose the next place to visit according to your interest. You may go trekking at the Chembra peak or see the three tiered waterfalls of Meenumutty or visit the freshwater Pookot Lake for green and serene forest views in a leisure boat ride or you may choose to visit the Edakkal caves for some astonishing landscapes and panoramic views.

Day 10 Travel from Wayanad to Tellicherry (Thalassery) (99 kms)

On the tenth day of the tour package you will be transferred to Tellicherry, which has been a pepper trade centre for ages. Tellicherry is known for its tranquil and idyllic beaches, islands and rivers. Here you can find some of the best qualities of spices in the World. The least crowded and mostly private beaches of Tellicherry are great for swimming, sun bathing and relaxing. When you are in Tellicherry, do not forget to taste the special Thalassery Biryani which is known for its tempting taste and aroma. Overnight stay in Tellicherry.

Day 11 Travel from Tellicherry to Nileshwaram (83 kms)

After a relaxing stay at Tellicherry you will be transferred to Nileshwaram. It is a municipality in the state of Kerala and known as the ‘Cultural capital of North Malabar’. In Nileshwaram you will enjoy sailing in the calm waters on a Houseboat. The other attractions here are the Thalayil Temple, the Azhithala Beach for leisure and the Kottencherry Hills which are known for the lush green cover of vegetation over them.

Day 12 Travel from Nileshwaram to Mangalore (89 kms)

From Nileshwaram, you will proceed to Mangalore leaving Kerala. Mangalore is now known with the name Mangaluru also and is a major sea port in the Arabian Sea in the state of Karnataka. Mangalore is an education hub in Karnataka and attracts tourists for its beaches, parks, lakes, temples and churches. On reaching Mangalore you are free to spend the time in an unguided tour to the city and then take rest overnight.

Day 13 Mangalore sightseeing

Beginning the day with a healthy breakfast you will proceed to visit the Gokarnanatheshwar Temple, dedicated to Gorakhnath, a name of Lord Shiva, the temple is recently built in Dravidian architecture and has gold colored Gopurams which look astonishing during the night. After the visit to the temple you will be visiting the St. Aloysius Chapel in Mangalore. It was built in the year 1880 by a group of missionaries during the spread of Christianity in the area and is decorated by an Italian painter named Antonio Moscheni. The evening in Mangalore will be spent on the tranquil beaches of the city. It has a number of beaches namely Surathkal, Panambur, Tannirbhavi, Sultan Bathery, etc.

Day 14 Departure

Your departure is scheduled on this day, you will be transferred at the airport to catch your flight back to your hometown and with this the 14 Days Kerala South to North Tour comes to an end.
